Workshops

Here are the incredible workshops that only God could have orchestrated to bless those ladies that are fortunate enough to attend.  Just plan to be with us between 2 pm Friday (registration) and 5:30 pm Saturday (closing) so you won't miss a thing.

Friday 3:00-3:45 Choose from:

Salon F)  "After a 20+ Year perspective....Things I Would Have Done Differently"- Baxter. Biddy, Gullo
"If I could have known then what I know now!" Join us as 3 very different moms reflect back over the years and offer you a few nuggets of wisdom regarding the things that they would have done differently.... if only they could do it all again. These moms have all graduated several children. Thank goodness for God's generous mercy to redeem us and use us imperfections and all.

Salon A) "You Mean I Have to Feed Them Too?....Meal Planning That Works"- Tracy Phillips
I love them, I clothe them, I do their laundry, I teach them diligently, I am their taxi service, their doctor, their maid, their counselor and the list goes on. Now, on top of all that, they expect to EAT???? If you are anything like me, feeding your family at the end of the day usually requires more energy than you have to expend. Join me as I give you tips on how to plan and execute your meals. We will cover everything from doubling your nightly meals to quarterly cooking.

Salon B) “The Purpose is Praise:  Worshipping God with Your Mind through Schoolwork ” - Jennifer Courtney
Are you weary and heavy-laden? Maybe you're just overwhelmed by all of the tasks that are on your plate. Then it's time to get refreshed! God has called us to praise Him all the time. In this workshop, we will look at the Scriptural calling to praise, the desire to praise, and the act of praise. For practical application, we will  consider ways to worship God while teaching our kids so that they, too, will learn to cry out in praise. Can you praise God while overwhelmed? While teaching a little one to read? While learning in chemistry with an older one? Let's find out and raise up our praises together.

Friday 4:00-4:45 Choose From:

Salon A) "Helping Your Struggling Student Succeed" - DeAnn Warfel
Have a child who can't sit still? How about a high achiever who spends hours on schoolwork? What about a straight "A" daydreamer? How about a child who can't seem to get ready in the morning without constant supervision?  This session will address the reality of ADD/ADHD, and the myriad of other conditions that arise (auditory/visual processing disorders, OCD, sensory issues, anxiety). Come find ways to identify if you or your child may have some of these issues and how to find the right help to foster and maximize everyone's God-given potential.

Salon B)  "Prayer Life in a Real World"- Susan Chrisman

Scripture tells us to pray.  In the life of a homeschool mom, who has so many responsibilities, what is a Biblical, but realistic prayer life to look like?  Susan Chrisman will share from scripture and from her journey as a twenty-five year veteran home educator the liberty and power God offers to those who pray.  There is no condemnation in this workshop, only truth to encourage and empower.

Salon F) "Timelining, Testing and Transcripting....The High School Years" - Aleta Biddy
OK, you've tackled the 3R's,but what about the T's and the C's.....Timelining, Testing, Transcripting and CLEP and Concurrent considerations. These are critical for graduation and the college bound student. Yikes! Many homeschool teachers postpone record keeping because the task seems overwhelming and confusing. Trust me....it's not that hard. Come and learn the step-by-step simplicity of the process, and leave with the confidence necessary to tackle the task.
